Pep can sign Bayern players – report – ESPN FC

The FC crew address the rumours surrounding the potential move of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Manchester City.

ESPN FC’s Tommy Smyth believes there is a 50% chance Aymeric Laporte and John Stones join Pep’s Man City defence.

ESPN FC’s Steve Nicol assesses Pep Guardiola’s decision to sign injury-prone Ilkay Gündogan to Man City.

Ilkay Gundogan is looking forward to playing under Pep Guardiola, who he regards as one of the best coaches of all time.

ESPN FC’s Shaka Hislop and Alexis Nunes discuss the potential eight new starters Pep Guardiola wants to bring to Manchester City.

ESPN FC’s Steve Nicol does not necessarily agree with Xavi’s statements that Pep Guardiola will change English football.

Suggestions that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is contractually prohibited from signing players from his previous club Bayern Munich are incorrect, according to Press Association Sport.

The German side’s winger Douglas Costa has this week been quoted by Brazilian television network Globo Esporte as saying of Guardiola: “It is something he has in the contract, a clause that he can’t take anyone from Bayern.”

But sources at City have indicated that is not the case, with there being nothing of that nature to stop them doing business with Bayern in future should they seek to.

Guardiola officially starts work at City on a three-year deal next month, when his Bayern contract will have expired.

The Blues made their first new signing of the summer last week when they recruited Germany defender Ilkay Gundogan from Bayern’s Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund.

The Premier League side have since been linked with Dortmund and Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
