The M5 southbound is closed tonight and the air ambulance has been forced to land following a serious accident.
Traffic management system Inrix reports there has been a major incident between J30 A376 / A379 (Exeter / Service Areas) and J31 A30 (Exminster).

Traffic is building on the M5 to J29 A30 (Exeter / Honiton) – and Traffic England says normal queuing levels aren’t expected to resume until 9.45pm tonight at the earliest.
The M5 northbound is blocked and traffic was held in all three lines whilst the air ambulance was on scene.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “The call came to us at 6.09pm. The air ambulance has been and gone, but we are not releasing any more information at this stage.
“[The crash] was quite serious. More information will be published as soon as we are able.”
