A main road in Cottingham has been blocked after a serious accident outside the entrance to Castle Hill Hospital
Traffic is reportedly moving ‘very slowly’ after a crash on Castle Road close to the junction where it meets Green Lane.
The accident has happened right outside one of the entrances to Castle Hill Hospital – the second biggest hospital in the area after Hull Royal Infirmary.
The build-up of traffic has had a knock-on effect on the A164 in both directions which meets Castle Road near the hospital.
Just two weeks ago, police and paramedics rushed to Cottingham after a car hit a pedestrian in Hallgate in the centre of the village.
A police cordon was put in place at the time of that particular incident on May 23 and two people were taken to hospital.
Torrential rain which has carried on from this afternoon into this evening is still causing havoc on the roads and earlier today, Humber Bridge made the decision to high sided vehicles from travelling on the thoroughfare due to strong winds,
